Anaheim TAILGATING Info

BUFFETT SHOW THIS WEEKEND IN ANAHEIM!

IMPORTANT INFO FROM OCPHC ABOUT TAILGATING

Good Morning all.  I just wanted to provide some info for tailgating this weekend.

Due to Anaheim parking codes, there are some unique issues with the tailgating this weekend.  I am attaching as much info as I can, but will also summarize the info here.

There is only one parking lot that the city has allowed tailgating to occur.  It is lot 5 in the picture.  This lot will open at 10:00 am and REQUIRES a pre-purchased parking pass.  The OC Club purchased a pass and will have an RV for our home base.  We will get to the lot when they open and set up for anyone that wants to come by and hang out with us.  We will have a DJ playing music from Noon to 3:00.  At 3:00 pm, Alec Bauer will take over and play music until 7:00 pm.  Look for the OCPHC feather flag at the RV.

The other Honda Center Parking lots will not open until 2:00 pm.  I was told by the Honda Center that tailgating in any other lot will not be permitted.  As with all stadiums, there are numerous parking lots in the businesses that surround the Honda Center that will open earlier than the 2:00 pm Honda Center time.

We were going to try to sell burgers to raise money for charity, but I’ve been told by the Honda Center that there will be no sales of anything in the parking lot and that we would be shut down.  There will be no charcoal grills allowed in the tailgate lot, but I will be bringing a small grill that people can use if they need to cook up some food of their own.  We did not go out specifically to create a potluck party due to the parking lot situation and the difficulty of getting the food to the RV, but if someone wants to bring something to share, it would be fine to do so.  We should also have room for people to bring their coolers to keep their adult beverages cold.

As I’ve implied above, they seem to be strict with their rules this year, please see the info at the URL below for their restrictions.

Santa Barbara Pre-Concert Party

Ready for Jimmy’s show at the Santa Barbara Bowl?  Please join us for:

Pre-concert party at La Playa Azule Cafe at 914 Santa Barbara Street!

The lower patio is reserved for us so you can have your pick:

  • regular happy hour menu from 3-6
  • lunch special from 11-4 if anyone wants to get there a little earlier
  • dinner reservations are recommended because it does get hectic with 50+ parrot heads on the patio

The restaurant is a bit under a mile from Santa Barbara Bowl.  Concert parking is available at the high school about 200 yards from the bowl but that doesn’t usually open til 4 PM.  There are public parking lots on State Street.

Looking forward to a fun afternoon and evening of music.
